This is another one of those long driving days.  We are up very early at five AM and head off shortly after 5:30 AM.  We drive until about 9AM, when we stop in the city of Teresina, where we stop to have breakfast and do cook group shopping.  Very efficient.

The rest of the day is spent driving.  We stop for lunch in an abandoned gas station.  We use their awning as a sun shade.  We drive for the rest of the afternoon and begin to look for a place to camp once it is 5 PM.  But it is not easy to find a place here, as there are no open, smooth spots that are not being used to grow crops.

Nearly two hours later, we come upon a local fazenda (or farm) and decide to try our luck here.  Fortunately they are kind enough to let us camp in their front lawn for the night.  It is a nice little spot except for one thing - there are millions of bugs.  We are not sure how many landed in the soup while cooking, but I guess it is just extra protein.

When we went to bed we had to make sure that none of the bugs flew into our tent as we got in.  Otherwise we had a nice restful night's sleep.
