Weather: Mostly cloudy, occasional sun, humid and very hot.  Cool, but humid, at night.

Today we leave Brazil and head into Venezuela.  We pack up the truck and head off just before 8 AM.  It is about a three hour drive to the border.  The border formalities are pretty straight forward, and we across and into Venezuela within an hour.  After about a half hour drive we arrive in the border town of Santa Elena.  We spend a couple of hours here changing money and having lunch.  Not many choices and we quickly finish and have too much time to wander around the dusty town.

During our afternoon drive to Kama Meru, simply a place to stop along the way, we stop at a number of waterfalls and water holes.  The first one has some sort of religious significance to the locals.  It is a small waterfall, with the most interesting part being the large flat rock that extends out from the base of the waterfall.  It is incredibly smooth and is reddish in color.

The second stop is at a river that is a series of small waterfalls and water holes.  We take a walk along the river, admiring the river and the table mountains in the background.  We do not have too much time here, and we head on to our campsite for the night, which is next to another river and waterfall.  We arrive after dark, so we cannot see too much.

We hang out, have some dinner, clean up and then pretty much just head straight off to bed.  We have an early start in the morning.
