Daily Journal Entry:

I spend the morning working on the computer to update the journal to be posted on the website - but I run out of battery after a while.  After breakfast, we head into town with the truck.  We get to the town center just before 11:00 AM, and grab a taxi to take us to the National Museum.  The driver had some troubles finding it, but we finally made it there, only to find out that it was closed for renovation.  We then decided to walk back to the town center through the medina.  It was quite interesting and it was clear that the locals did not see many white people walk through there.  The streets were dirt, with open sewers running alongside and trash everywhere.

We got to the post office at 1:00 PM and bought some postcards and stamps.  We got a bunch of different stamps to collect.  We then headed back to the same bakery for lunch, where we cooled off and wrote some of our postcards.  We then went back to the internet cafe, but it was a waste of time - the connections were awful.  We then took a taxi back to the campsite, first stopping off at the market to pick up some things for lunch the next day.

That night we had a barbeque dinner by the truck at the campsite.

While we were in Bamako, Truck Africa was also staying at the same campsite.  Here is what their truck looks like.
